Accreditation is a voluntary method of quality assurance established more than 100 years ago by American universities and secondary schools. It was designed to evaluate schools and their use of rigorous educational standards, protocols and research-based processes. Accreditation also provides reciprocity of credits and courses between schools and validation of the equivalency of diplomas.
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
The University of Miami Global Academy is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), which accredits K-12 schools, distance education and post secondary schools. This organization was founded in 1895 and accredits over 13,000 schools and school systems globally. At UMGA, our SACS accreditation provides our families with the assurance that their child is receiving the highest quality education that they have come to know from the University of Miami.
The University of Miami Global Academy is a member of the International Association for K-12 Online Learning. This non-profit association serves as an advocate for effective online education, develops K-12 online learning quality standards, offers professional development opportunities and shares information, resources and expertise across the education community.
National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
The University of Miami Global Academy has NCAA approved courses in the subject areas of language arts/English, mathematics, science, social science/studies, and world languages. This is important because according the NCAA, "College-bound student-athletes must meet NCAA initial-eligibility requirements in order to practice, play and receive a scholarship in the first year of enrollment at an NCAA Division I or NCAA Division II college or university."

College Board is a not-for-profit membership association that serves to connect students to college success and opportunity.
